![]() I had the opportunity to teach a couple of classes at Bekha's Dance Expressions in Anchorage, Alaska over the past weekend. It was my second visit up north to teach pole. Bekha recently changed locations and now has two poles in her studio. She averages 7-10 ladies a class which takes place on Friday evenings. This girl is a busy lady and the lead instructor, Kara, has her hands full. Pole Dance is fast growing in Alaska and the ladies of the north are discovering the physical and spiritual benefits of the sport. I feel privileged that Pole Fitness Seattle has been able to play a role in teaching workshops and guest instructing in the city of Anchorage. ![]() The girls have advanced so much since my last visit in June and amazed me with their determination to nail new moves like the beloved knee hold and my new favorite the twisted grip. In the first class the students learned the signature Pole Fitness Seattle warm up and spent time learning floor work and fundamental spins. The second class worked on spin combinations, inversion progressions and climbing. These ladies kicked butt and are rockstar strength builders. They didn't even brake a sweat with ten pole crunches on each side! I can't wait for the next time. CommentsLeave a Reply | AuthorPole Fitness Seattle Blog ArchivesDecember 2011 CategoriesAll |
