Owner/Founder of Pole Fitness Seattle
I created the Pole Fitness Seattle “Femme Owned Business Feature” because entrepreneurialism can be a source of tremendous social good bringing communities together and empowering women with personal independence.
“Entrepreneurship: The last refuge for the troubled individual” - sounds like an obsessive pole dancer?
Starting this month Pole Fitness Seattle will feature a business in an effort to not only promote the business alongside our own but bring more resources and support to Pole Fitness Seattle students. I want students and staff to have a reference of other great businesses to be excited about.
Pole Fitness Seattle & The Riveter Story
I was first introduced to The Riveter by one of the classroom moms at my son’s school who was supporting this new start up. I was invited to take part in their initial beta testing before they opened the doors of their Capitol Hill space. It was here that I found a community of women and other small business owners who supported each other side-by-side as they grew and navigated the struggles of business ownership. I worked for many hours in their space and attended an incredible series of events they hosted last Spring. It reminded me of the community we have at Pole Fitness Seattle. This is the single most special thing about the studio; It seemed like a natural partnership. Pole Fitness Seattle will be offering a weekly class on Capitol Hill lead by Flow Program Director and Riveter member, Cynthia Tee. We are excited to be offering this exclusive class create specially for The Riveter. Yay!
What is the Riveter:
Seattle's first and only co-working space that was founded for women by women.
The first location is in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Their second location in Fremont just opened earlier this month.
The Riveter Story:
We’ve worked hard to claim our seat at the table. In the end, we believe there is only one way for our voices to be heard, to make a difference and to create the life we want: To build a brand new — fundamentally different—table.
We invite women to take bigger risks: to write a business plan, to pitch a really smart idea, to raise her first round of venture funding, to launch a company. We’re an ally to every woman, anywhere, wherever she may find herself in her career. We’ve created a powerful network of support so she can start her second—or third—act.
