Today's community showcase features another instructor, Ashlee! Learn more about her pole journey below!
The first thing I love about pole is that there is no right or wrong: there is only safe, and unsafe. I love that pole can be explored and interpreted in so many ways. Exotic, lyrical/modern, burlesque/performance based, pure aerial, pure dance, the list goes on! My personal practice can be different every day that I come to the studio. Some days I focus (or suffer! through) pure flexibility training. Other days I want to dance super sexy, or work on aerial conditioning and inverting. Some days, I don't feel sexy at all and only want to explore unconventional movement and weird shapes on the floor. Some days I'm happy and want to play on spinning pole and feel like I'm flying! Some days I'm working through a foul mood and put on aggressive lound music and smack my heels together until the fall apart.
I love that PFS is an inclusive studio. Pole truly is for everybody! It makes me happy to see such a diverse and united group of people also call PFS their 'safe space', their 'happy place', or their 'home'. I affectionately refer to the PFS community as 'the Coven'.
This year as an instructor, I am looking forward to increasing my pole/aerial vocabulary and my dance vocabulary to share with students.

To find out if Pole will finally be added to the Olympics?! To help my students grow as dancers and athletes. To train for another competition (maybe?!)
