My aerial journey began on lyra, in Boston in 2008. Lyra helped me rediscover a confidence in my body that I hadn't known since childhood. When I started teaching in Port Townsend, it was such a joy to watch my students also grow more confident, on and off the hoop. One time, a married student said her sex life had improved since starting lyra -- such a Proud Teacher Moment. :)
After a few years' break from aerial, I started pole at PFS in summer, 2016. My pole practice is informed by my lyra experience, plus four years partner dancing and 20 years performing theater, burlesque and improv. I'm sooooo in love with pole, and with the people and environment at PFS. I'm thrilled to become a teaching apprentice, so I can help students become better performers, and honored I'll get to be part of students' journeys as strong, confident dancers.
