We're going back to showcasing our wonderful students and today we are featuring Lauren!
When did you start pole dancing?
I started Pole Dancing summer 2016, I signed up for the intro to pole series with Emily Lester and the rest is history.
Favorite part about pole dancing?
The sneaky workout it gives. I'm having a blast, laughing and I always wake up the next day sore.
Favorite class(es) to take at the studio?
All about Bend
Climbs and Spins
Favorite songs to dance to?
Ciara- Paint it Black
Sarah Fimm- Lioness
What are your pole necessities?
Dry Hands. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to this stuff, also alcohol with rags, I want to be the only dirty thing on the pole.
Favorite pole move?
Back hook spin.
Candy Cane Spin. It's more of a love hate relationship at this point.
What do you enjoy outside of pole? (Yoga, reading, work, hiking, etc.)
There's life outside of pole? LOL! I love to read and I really enjoy cooking and boating!
Whether you’re a local or new in town, what is your favorite part about Seattle?
I live in Bellingham, but my favorite part about Seattle is at night, when the city is all lit up. Every building almost seems to be competing with one another and Bellingham isn't nearly as big to be pretty at night like that.
Favorite food? Favorite place to eat in Seattle? Etc.
Veggie Grill, if you haven't gone, go!
Biggest accomplishment for yourself this year at the PFS studio.
I think walking through the door the very first time by myself, was pretty big. Pole dancing in general can be intimidating and finally, FINALLY getting into my front/forward splits. It became a goal of mine from my very first bendy class and it was such an amazing feeling when I finally accomplished it!
How have you grown as a student this past year?
My confidence has soared. I don't think I ever considered myself an insecure person, but pole dancing forces you to confront what you perceive to be flaws and embrace them, own them and use them on the pole and floor. How I treat myself has completely changed since I started.
Favorite thing about the PFS studio?
The community!! From the instructors who are always encouraging to other students. I was so nervous advancing to other classes because I'm such newbie, but many of the other students who were well more advanced than me, celebrated my victories, everyone is there to uplift one another and it's one of the things I most look forward to when going to class.
Thank you so much for sharing Lauren; we're glad you walked through our front door too!
